dreaming.

I’ve been dreaming pretty vividly lately.

I remember in the morning, which is something that almost never happens when I have my sleeping wonderland adventures. This time, it was pretty normal though. There were two lofts that my family was choosing between, one at the top of a hotel and the other was on the 5th story of some beach town.

(There was a little part where I had to sneak into someone’s mansion and kill the spider lady for the house though. Low-key terrified of spider/bug people.)

It was odd because I know nothing about architecture or interior design but the houses in my dream were uber cool. There were floor to ceiling windows in common, familial areas and lots of natural light. Modern leather furniture formed a square around a white stone fireplace. Steps going down into the dining room and high chairs and tables in the kitchen.  Sliding wooden doors blocked off each section of the house and my room had a large queen bed and a small breakfast brunch table on the side, facing a huge window.

There wasn’t much in my room, no television or anything.

But I could look out the window and see the beach waves beneath me while I drank coffee and read my book, with Choo at my feet.

I would love to live in a loft somewhere. Preferably, in a city that wasn’t too far a drive from a beach.

Mizuhara Kiko for SLY Spring/Summer 2013 Collection Catalog

For you, Ren.

She’s such a cutie. It’s hard to believe she’s half American because she looks pretty Asian to me. It’s easy to hide behind long tresses to look feminine, so girls who can rock short hair have my respect. It makes her look more interesting and couture anyways.

Asians with charisma are hard to come by, aren’t they?

Generation Y.

Receptionist:Don't you feel like your generation is just lazy?
Me:Lazy? I'd say apathetic.
Receptionist:Isn't it the same?
Me:No. My generation is criticized and toiled with, and I don't see why not - just turn on the TV and watch what they're feeding us. But my generation is not lazy. My generation fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. My generation fought for womens rights in a fury that hadn't been seen since the 19th Amendment. My generation got our first black President elected. My generation fought for Gay rights for the first time in American history. And with all that, we are apathetic, and that's because things aren't going to be better for us down the road. We are the first generation expected to make less than our parents. We are the first generation to see America lose its status as a super power. We've lived through the worst economic times since the Great Depression, and are forced to take out thousands of dollars in student loans at the same time, all while our college degrees slowly turn into a highschool diploma. We've done plenty, and expect nothing. So no, I wouldn't say we're lazy, just apathetic.
